    Hey Everyone,

Some of you might remember me as the guy from Portugal who once accidetally wrote a whole post here in portuguese 8o. Back then, I shared my story about going to Berlin without a ticket for the Pokal final, and how afterwards I made it my mission to finally watch a game at the Alm.

When I asked here for advice a while ago, many of you were very helpful, and I just want to thank you for that. Since then, I had already booked my flights and accommodation, but this morning I finally confirmed it all by buying my ticket for the SchucoArena!

So yes - It´s official now. I am going to Bielefeld to watch Arminia x Furth.

This trip means a lot to me, not just because of football, but because of everything the club has come to represent me. I´m really looking forward to finally experiencing the Alm atmosphere in person and seeing the team live.

If anyone has recommendations for things to visit and especially good places to eat in Bielefeld since I´ve already done some research of places to visit and local tips are always the best, I´d be super grateful.

    Can´t Wait

    Welcome to Bielefeld.

You should visit the Sparrenburg definitely and the Hermanns-Denkmal.

Yeah I know about both already and will visit Sparrenburg, I am not sure about Hermanns-Denkmal tho since it´s pretty far. I´m actually staying 3 full days, probably 2 in Bielefeld and 1 in Hannover.

    Hey, welcome!

I asked Chat GPT to schedule a typical matchday and I am impressed… and scared, because this is pretty much it:

⚽ Matchday Guide – Arminia Bielefeld (Away Fan Experience)

    T – 3:00h | Siegfriedsplatz (“Siggi”)

    • Starting point: the legendary meeting spot for many Arminia fans.
    • Spend about 45 minutes soaking up the atmosphere: beer stalls, chats with locals, maybe the first chants.
    • Tip: try a local beer — people are usually open to conversation.

    T – 2:15h | Walk to the Stadium

    • Simply follow the crowd — the walk takes about 25–30 minutes.
    • Great atmosphere on the way: chants, flags, and mini fan marches.
    • For first-timers, this march is already part of the experience.

    T – 1:30h | Explore the Stadium Area

    • Arrive at the SchücoArena.
    • Take some time to look around:
      • Graffiti under the West Stand (fan artwork worth checking out).
      • Food stalls, fan shop, and the buzz outside the ground.

    T – 0:40h | Enter Your Block

    • About 40 minutes before kickoff, head to your stand.
    • Catch the warm-up, possible choreographies, and chants building up.
    • The sense of “homecoming” in Bielefeld’s stadium is special, even for visitors.

Match Time | 90+ Minutes of Emotions

    • Dive into the atmosphere — whether in the away section or elsewhere.

After the Game | Night Out

    • If you’re up for more:
      • Finca Barcelona – a cult bar for post-match talk.
      • Or check out the pubs in the old town (around Obernstraße or Arndtstraße) — lively and full of fans.
    • …

Enjoy the game and your time in Bielefeld!

So great to hear that Arminia goes international :)!

Make sure to walk through the Altstadt and have a Coffee there. If you are into cakes, Café Kraume is your place. Artwise, the Kunsthalle can be recommended.

Eating: I (still) do like GlückundSeligkeit although it has become very expensive and the Service sometimes is not high level but the atmosphere of the place (old church) is nice. For something fast and cheaper: Krispy Kebab (of course).

Dancing: Café Europa, maybe you'll meet a few players after a win ;)

If you want to visit the Sparrenburg, you can start your Hike at the "Tierpark Olderdissen", you can Take Bus 24 from Jahnplatz (10 min Ride).

From there you can walk trough the Botanic Garden, get a Nice view over Dr. Oetker and you will come out under the Sparrenburg.

Overall it Takes (depending on how Long you are staying in Olderdissen) about 2 hours.

    Hallo guy from Portugal,

really fantastic that you will come to see Bielefeld and Arminia playing. Looking at the Chat GPT schedule above just a remark: Do not 100% rely on that. For example: The walk from Siegfriedplatz to the stadium entrance is not more than 15 min. E.g. against Bremen I stayed at the Siegfriedplatz with friends and beers until 1h before the game and we were on the stands 45 min before, which was perfect (we are standing, block 4). You should of course give yourself some more time in the stadium as a newbie.

Maybe if there is a stadium tour on this weekend, this is a good possibility to learn more about the club. There you have the possibility to see the players cabins and some other special places in the stadium and to hear some background stories about Arminia ( but I think it will only be in German, but maybe you can ask for translations of the most important informations).
